How are we living greener here at the store?
We continue to be the community recyling center for home-owners to drop off their fluorescent bulbs, batteries, paint and more. (see services page for recycling details).

 

Constantly looking for energy saving opportunities we removed older T12 fluorescent lighting fixtures in the store and replaced them with new energy efficient/eco-friendly T8 fixtures.

We have also replaced all light switches with motion sensors. Unless the room is being used the lights stay on no longer than two min.

 

In addition we have replaced the bathroom/kitchen fixtures with low-flow toilets and instant-on water heaters.


These changes have had an immediate impact on the amount of light inside the store (brighter) and at the same time reduced on our energy bill considerably. That's an example of greener living.
